What is Tension?

 

Tension is often a physical manifestation of the body trying to cope with overwhelm caused by stress and/or trauma. Tension is a fact of life but need not be a life sentence. By learning how to skilfully and compassionately tend to the body's sensations (soma), tension can free itself from the whole system. This is the Tension Freedom process.

Tension Freedom Toolkit

1:1 Tension Freedom Coaching

Stage 1: Grounding
Being guided through body based practices to create safety and nervous system regulation.

Stage 2: Listening
Learning the art of being with sensations and signals of the body to find out what is needed in each moment.

Stage 3: Releasing
Experience trauma informed exercises to release stuck
tension held in the body.

Stage 4: Integrating
Create a vision and plan on how to keep all stages of the process alive for life.

Tara Kaur Rai is an Embodiment Guide born and bred in South London with North Indian ancestry. Cultivating a healthy and nurturing relationship to her body has been at the core of her personal healing journey spanning over a decade across a variety of modalities and landscapes. Tara's lived experience of navigating life with a physical disability on her right arm (Erb's Palsy) since birth has given her a wealth of insight and empathy for those who struggle to be in their body and feel safe in the world. Witnessing her own transformation over the years has given her faith that human beings can evolve and thrive beyond past challenging experiences.

Group Tension Freedom Sessions

Join our monthly group Tension Freedom sessions at Oru East Dulwich. Each session is 90 minutes long, up to 15 spaces with the chance to meet like minded tribe whilst getting to learn your body's brilliant ability to release through safety and connection. Please reach out if you have any questions or needs. It can be possible that 1:1 support may be more appropriate depending on individual circumstance. To book a spot follow the link:
